「京表具伝統工芸士」の田中善茂さんが経営する表具師のお店です。
「表具師」という仕事は、単に襖貼りや屏風貼りなど、「貼る作業」だけではありません。古くなった掛軸や画帳、屏風などの「洗い」や「修復」なども手掛けます。
This is a store run by Mr. Yoshishige Tanaka, a “traditional craftsman of Kyoto-style tableware”.
The job of a “table decorator” is not limited to simply pasting fusuma (sliding doors) and byobu (folding screens). He also washes and restores old hanging scrolls, picture books, and folding screens.
